Mr Mulualem – the father of one of The Kindu Trust’s sponsored children – has been training as a tailor in a local vocational training centre, with supplementary training provided on an intermittent basis by our volunteers. The Kindu Trust is helping Mr Mulualem to pay for a new sewing machine, matching all funds that he pays towards the cost. He has been using his training to manufacture fashionable bags, which are now available in our The Kindu Shop in Ethiopia. Mr Mulualem is a widower and the sole provider for his children – his new training has given him a vital source of income for his family.
